Fara was born and raised in the Pensacola, Florida area. She moved to Jacksonville during high school and graduated from Englewood High School. Fara attended FCCJ and afterwards worked in finance for Barnett Banks of Jacksonville and Atlantic National Bank of Jacksonville specializing in collections, installment loans, and the legal department along with new accounts. Fara also attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and became a lifetime member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Fara met her husband Harry W. Bowen III in 1977. Harry is a Bishop Kenny H. S. graduate and a Jacksonville University alumnus. They married and relocated to the Washington D. C. Metro area, where Harry began a 29 year career with the FBI and Fara continued on with her career in finance with Dominion National Bank in Vienna, VA. Fara then went on to work for Ford Motor Credit Company in McLean, VA. as an auditor. When Fara's husband became a special agent with the FBI, they were soon transferred to various cities in the U.S. to include San Diego, CA., Mansfield, Ohio, the Washington D. C. area numerous times, Gulfport, Mississippi, and Atlanta, Georgia. Fara and her family relocated back to Jacksonville, Florida in 2006. During the time that Fara and her family traveled the country, she was able to volunteer in many leadership capacities by initiating three different community swim teams in MS. VA. and GA. She also ran Project Graduation programs involving high school seniors in the Northern VA. area.
Fara has an up close and keen understanding of the relocation process, whether it involves a cross country move or a local move. Her goal is to formulate a smooth transaction for anyone's real estate needs. She is flexible, friendly, and above all else will serve each and every client with honesty and integrity. Fara brings a high level of enthusiasm to her life and also to her position as a real estate professional with WATSON REALTY CORPORATION.
Personal: Fara has four children, Christopher, who resides in Ohio along with Fara's two grandchildren. Fara & Harry have three daughters: Mary, who is a graduate of the University of Mary Washington and a real estate agent with LONG & FOSTER Realtors in McLean, VA.; Stephanie, who is also a graduate of the University of Mary Washington, & works for the Federal Gov. in the Washington D.C. area and is currently working on her Masters, and Melissa who recently graduated from University of North Florida with her Bachelors in Nursing and works at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, Fl. Fara's hobbies are: reading, golfing, traveling, swimming, and bike riding.
Fara currently volunteers as a "Storyteller" at TPC Sawgrass home of the "The Players" and loves having the opportunity to volunteer for The Players Championship golf tournament each year on the 18th green. She is currently a member of the Mayport Council Navy League and DAR. Fara is a member of the Jacksonville Beach Newcomers and Arlington Newcomers,
Fara has the Loss Mitigation Certification as a member of the Northeast Association of Realtors and also the Certified Distressed Property Expert Certification. These two designations are critically important for the climate of the current real estate market. Fara recently went through the Certified International Property Specialist Certification Program. Fara's goal is to stay proficient with the ever changing real estate needs of her clients through the knowledge that all new education can provide.
